Second Chance Scholars

Limitless Possibilities
Our Mission
Second Chance Scholars aims to provide safe and secure housing for formerly incarcerated individuals, supporting them throughout their reentry period to ensure a successful transition that ultimately results in a degree in higher education, gainful employment, reinforced social relationships, and financial independence.
Creating a Culture of Support and Success
Our Goals
Education
Support and empower enrolled students to actively participate in campus life, leadership, and community service by advocating for their needs with stakeholders, and facilitating opportunities for community service and civic involvement.
Community
Establish a strong network among Second Chance Scholars alumni and current students, fostering a Second Chance Scholars Alumni Association, organizing events that bring alumni and current students together, and leveraging alumni success to create professional opportunities such as internships, fellowships, and job placements for fellow alumni and current students.
Advocacy
Cultivate a college-professional culture and create pathways for both current and formerly incarcerated individuals where voices of the justice-impacted are projected and honored.
